Thai Democracy Vs. Untoucheable Monarch !?
Excerpt from Bangkok Post:

The Thai distributor of the Economist said Tuesday it had banned this week's edition of the magazine because it contained a story critical of His Majesty the King.

Asia Bookssaid the article, which discussed thealleged role in politics of the King,"risks insulting the monarchy."Thailand has the strictest lesemajeste law in the world, with jail terms of up to 15 years for anyone who insults the royal family or the monarchy.

"We received excerpts of the magazine beforehand and weconsidered that it's sensitive and not appropriate, and also risksinsulting the monarchy. So we decided not to import that edition," anAsia Books staff member said.

Thai police said the importer hadagreed to a self-imposed ban on the story - an article which themagazine claimed would make many Thais "squirm" because of itsstance on the monarchy.

"Police have talked to importers anddistributors who agreed not to import the issue of Dec 6-10because an article in the magazine criticised the monarchy," said Pol Lt Gen Thiradet Rodphothong, commander of Special BranchPolice.

"Therefore the police do not have to officially ban the magazine," he said.

Theroyal family's role in politics has been a touchy subject in recentmonths because of the street protests by the People's Alliance for Democracy, which has claimed loyalty to the monarchy.

The king has not commented on the political crisis. He was "mildly ill" and missed his traditional birthday eve address to thenation last Thursday.

The patrilineal tradition of the Chakri dynasty is unlikely to be broken. And the prominent role played by the crown prince in Princess Galyani’s cremation removed any doubts about whether he was the chosen heir, says a Thai academic. Even so, many Thais, a superstitious people, will remember an old prophecy that the dynasty would last for only nine generations—Bhumibol is the ninth Chakri king—and that a tenth would be a disaster.

Right the ninth Chakri king is the last one.
" L'meut kha'satra mai dai!" That the lèse-majesté law.
...
...Mai dai...then he will die... and the monnarchy will also die...
No more "Chak-Kri"...

From: Khmeng Abroad,
Hhhhmmm..many of our people still complain that our neighbours robbed us, stole us and having been invading us, but why not just do something more and more before it is too late.
Many of Khmers live with the prestige of the past, but not really plan for the future.
Actions speak louder than words.
Regards,

Khmer letter alphabets, Khmer vowels and Khmer numerals have been using by Thais as Thai official language today because Thais were Tai refugees running from the Mongol killing and they were helped by the Khmer King and the Khmer people.

From Khmeng Abroad,
Dear all, if you wanna find out moe about the truth related to Thai King, please search for the book titled as the King Never Smiles. I was told that it is banned in Thailand. If Thailand is democratic enough, why such book is banned?
Take care, and please turn our eyes to the East too as I read news and learned that one border post collapsed in the rice field plouged by V.N farmer.
Cheers!!!

Not just the song but everything. I just noticed that some Cambodian political party proudly use Thai motto as its own in the letter to the US president.

" Nation Religion King "

The one that hate Thai the most but at the same time love the belonging of Thai the most too.
